Something for men (who like nice hands) and women…

Burt’s Bees!!!

Here is the holy product

Lovin it!

Ok this sounds like an advert but it is NOT!

Recently I went on the rampage for a REALLY good hand cream. Everyday I am outside all year round so my hands are always exposed to the elements therefore making them dry and cracked. I have also noticed that now I am approaching mid thirties I see the first signs of ageing on my hands and I think NOOOOOOOO!!! This must be stopped immediately!!

So having tried Clarins Age control handcream for about 6 months, I have to say I found no improvement and I found myself continuously having to reapply every time I washed my hands or had ventured outside. At 18 euro 75ml bottle I didn’t actually notice the difference between this one and a cheap moisturiser bought at the drug store.  I actually would rate Nivea hand creams better than the Clarins one I tried.

So I ventured into Sephora at V&D in Leidschendam, explained my problem and the really helpful advisor recommended Burt’s Bees Hand Repair cream. She explained that Burt’s Bees products had only just been imported two weeks ago into the Netherlands from Canada and at this time was only available at Sephora.

After trying a small amount on the back of my hand I knew instantly that this cream was going to make a difference my skin looked instantly revived. The cream which is more like a very thick paste smells quite strong and medicinal which was slightly off putting right away, I usually like my hand creams to smell feminine and fresh. But I realised that in order to find a good hand cream I would probably have to dump the idea of nice smells and go for something that actually works!

So of course as you probably have guessed I purchased it and I am extremely happy, I actually even like the smell and feel slightly addicted! (perhaps there something in it?)

Whilst wearing it, it almost feels like there is a protective layer over your skin and you feel that the cream remains on your hands hours after applying it. I like that, as with most creams you get the feeling that after washing your hands or a few hours after application you need to reapply. I don’t have time for that or I forget and then end up with chapped crinkled Granny hands.

Not attractive..

So tell me about your hand cream experiences….

Burt’s Bees makes excellent products. They’re actually based in North Carolina, where I used to live. I’m so glad to see that their stuff is going to be available here now, although sad that it will have the Sephora markup, since I used to buy it in the grocery store. 😉 Their coconut foot cream is the best thing ever!
